What Is CJ?

CJ.com is an affiliate marketing network that connects merchants (as advertisers) with publishers (as affiliates) in a wide variety of industries. The CJ platform makes it easier for merchants to connect with affiliates who are able to promote their products and services in exchange for a commission.

How Affiliates Make Money With CJ

Publishers sign-up as an affiliate and earn money by promoting various products and services through CJ’s large network of merchants. When a customer clicks on a unique CJ affiliate link and makes a purchase, the affiliate earns a monetary commission. The amount of commission earned varies depending on the product or service being promoted and the terms of the affiliate program. Some listed programs pay affiliates a small percentage per sale, while others pay a fixed amount per lead or referral.

Affiliates don’t automatically join merchant programs upon creating a CJ account. Instead, they manually pick which merchants to promote and apply to them. Some merchants auto-approve all applications, while others manually vet applications.

To start being an affiliate on CJ.com affiliates must create a publisher account and apply to join individual affiliate programs. Once approved, affiliates can use CJ’s tracking tools to track earnings and see how well promotions are performing.

It’s free for publishers to join CJ as an affiliate. All affiliates must be over 18 years old.

It’s not worthwhile for publishers to join CJ as an affiliate until they have an audience to promote to. CJ deactivates accounts that don’t refer any sales for an extended period of time.

How Merchants Make Money With CJ

Merchants (such as online retailers), use CJ to connect with affiliates who can promote their products and services to a wider audience. When an affiliate promotes products and generates a sale or lead, the merchant pays the affiliate a commission. This can be a cost-effective way to reach new customers and grow a retail business.

To become a merchant on CJ.com signing up for a merchant account is required. From there merchants are able to set the specific terms of commissions and also track the performance of individual affiliates. CJ does not have a publicly available setup cost for merchants. Merchants are required to submit their company information and cooperate with CJ staff to decide the best solution.
