MyThemeShop develop premium WordPress themes and plugins. They are an excellent mix of being good quality themes but not too expensive, they also have plenty of free themes available.
My Review
I have used MyThemeShop for a couple of years. The two themes I have implemented on websites of my own at the moment are SociallyViral and PlayBook, both have been excellent. I plan to use more in the future as my business grows. All themes also come with useful WordPress shortcodes developed by the company.
Not only do the designs look great, they come with really good widgets, lots of management options in the admin panel to implement adsense easily, change colors, choose whether to show metatags, add google analytics tracking, as well as many other options.
They sometimes also run good offers, during Black Friday sales of 2014 they had themes for $9, which was awesome. Its not very often they have a sale but it is worth having an account with them to learn about the offers they do run, even if you don’t want to buy a theme now.
A few premium plugins are also for sale including WP Subscribe Pro and WP Review Pro, these are both very good and will help you get more subscribers, and be able to show reviews with rich snippets to give your visitors a better experience which will hopefully boost your search engine traffic.
Using the website is very easy, the design is excellent and you can look at demos of each theme as well as read about all the features they have.
I have needed support from the company a couple of times, this is done thru a support forum which I have to say is brilliant. Their members of staff reply very quickly. There are separate sections for help on free themes and premium themes. Getting good support is very important when buying web designs and for this they score very highly, 5/5 in fact for customer support. Each time they have solved my issue very quickly.
The Affiliate Program
A couple of key features of the affiliate program are that they pay a very generous 55% commission, and that there is no minimum payout. So if you write blog posts it can be worth writing just 1 blog post to hopefully get one sale, and if you get many sales then the return on your time is very good.
If like me, you also use their themes, it is worth putting a link in the footer of your website, if other webmasters like the design they will often look in the footer to see who created it, this gives the opportunity to get sales for zero work.
In the affiliate info area of your account you also have the option to generate coupon codes to give your loyal users a discount. This means you earn less so it all depends on how generous you are feeling.
There is a good choice of themes to promote if you wish to market to specific niches, they create designs for the following niches; business, ecommerce, blog, magazine and they have generic free ones too which aren’t category specific.
If you run an affiliate blog yourself, or webmaster blog then you can also try and build a downline of other affiliates, MyThemeShop will pay you 10% of his/her earnings for a lifetime if you are able to refer a new affiliate, which is a generous offer.
As for security the company say they have a very secure tracking system and 100% fraud detection, so if people buy fraudulently then the sale will be removed from your account. Nobody wants dodgy activity at a website so it is good to see they are active in protecting themselves and should mean good stability going forward.
In the members area there are also banners you can download to help promote the service to get clicks to convert to sales. And that is where you view your statistics of visitors sent and conversions achieved.
Payouts are all done via PayPal meaning it doesn’t matter what country you are from, you should be eligible. You don’t have to apply to become an affiliate, simply create an account and click on the ‘affiliate section’. Join now and good luck getting sales, put in the effort and hopefully you can earn yourself hundreds of dollars to get some tasty payouts.
